Well, today I woke up determined to conquer the stairs and get out of here and it worked! I did them all no problem and am now allowed home on Tuesday! I literally can’t wait… Won’t be coming back to Jersey until I’m a bit more recovered (I still have a lot of work to do and it does take time) and also I will be in clinic once a week here to be monitored (usually it’s twice a week to start with but he doesn’t feel I need that) so will wait for the appointments to get a bit further apart to make it worth the boat trip. Not sure if I have mentioned this before but you aren’t allowed to fly for about a year due to pressure on the join between your original body and the new lungs!

I also can’t drive for between 3 and 6 months which is a bit annoying but it’s something you need to be safe at and I’m definitely not strong enough at the moment!

So that’s today’s news. Have Dad here today and tomorrow which was lovely. Haven’t seen him since before Xmas and he was here to see the stair climbing…. And I used him for more talking practice!! πŸ™‚

It’s been a good day today πŸ™‚

Love Kerry xxx

Dear Kerrie, Just caught up with your last three posts, you are an amazing walking miracle! Thank you for all the news and we are so glad that you will be going home next week. I am doing prayers on Sunday so I will update the Church (if no one has already done so) and we will continue to pray for all the little niggles you are encountering and your swift return to full health and a ‘normal’ life again doing all the little things we take for granted.

So very well done Kerry; – it sounds as though it is all coming together. Home is a wonderful thought. You wouldn’t have needed a sea voyage in the last few days when the ferry was apparently stuck off St. Catherine’s for 24 hours. We felt so sorry for the poor people stuck aboard. Keep up the courage.
